Jannie Edwards lives and writes in Edmonton. She has three books of poetry -- The Possibilities of Thirst (Rowan Books, 1997); Blood Opera: The Raven Tango Poems (MacEwan Press, 2006), in collaboration with visual artist Paul Saturley; and Falling Blues (Frontenac House ,2010). Edmonton's Prosperous Tangueros Consortium mounted Blood Opera: The Raven Tango Poems as part of Workshop West's 2010 Canoe Theatre Festival. Her videopoem Engrams: Reach and Seize Memory is a collaborative work that features Edwards' English poetry translated into American Sign Language and performed by Deaf translator and actor Linda Cundy (available from author). She edited Ruth Mandel's poetic memoir How to Tell Your Children About the Holocaust. Jannie Edwards taught creative writing and literature for over 25 years at Grant MacEwan University.
