THANK YOU TO ALL OUR SUPPORTERS FOR MAKING OUR WORK POSSIBLE

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT MY DONATION WILL BE USED FOR?

If you would like, with your donation you can specify the intended purpose of your donation and the League will apply your funds toward it. For amounts exceeding $5,000 the League will record your intentions, keep them on file for annual review, and apply your funds toward your intended goals.

If you have no specific purpose for your gift, we would like you to consider applying your gift to the PK Page Trust Fund for mentoring, or toward the building of a League of Canadian Poets Endowment Trust Fund at our bank Toronto Dominion. The Private Giving Foundation intends to return 5% annually on the initial balance net of a 1% management expense ratio.

WILL I RECEIVE A CHARITABLE TAX RECEIPT?

Yes. Tax receipts will be mailed as soon as your gift is registered with the League. This also includes amounts in your will, with the receipt coming in the taxation year of your passing. Different tax strategies may apply to some types of gifts. Have a chat with us and we will give you a clear indication of when a tax receipt may be reasonably expected.

WHAT IS A BEQUEST?

A bequest is an amount of cash, portion of, or specified property listed in your will with the League as beneficiary; it passes to the League when your estate — a home, other real property, RRSPs, RIFs, other assets, etc — is resolved.

WILL MY DONATION BE RECOGNIZED PUBLICLY?

We have many ways or recognizing donors of all levels, including a regularly updated list of supporters maintained on our website. We are also happy to keep donations anonymous.
