The whole point is not to look at the moon

But to look as the moon
– down at everything awash in her light
and to find yourself
among the tiny blessed creatures
held in her gaze
among the spruce crowns
the dancing moths
the million serpentine
ripples on the lake
and below them
the pickerel
tipping in the deep
to catch an eyeful of silver
