From the introduction

We hear it said often within our community: that to be trans is beautiful, powerful, and sacred. And there is beauty and power in recognizing our authentic selves and living in our truth. But sometimes, the weight of that feels heavy. Like Conyer Clayton, some days we long to “reappear by disappearing,/an overtired wasp in winter”. This feels especially true in a time when we’ve never been more visible, and when our rights and humanity are simultaneously being attacked.

In creating the call out for this chapbook, I wanted to give poets the freedom to write about whatever was on their minds. What are our day-to-day realities? How do we show up for ourselves and one another? I was honoured to have received so many beautifully crafted poems, and I wish I could have included them all..
