Before the Internet

It was you, with a lisp

of raspberry at your lips, me,

a blade of quackgrass strung

between thumbs, and the sun

kilning us into history.

She was a finalist for PEN Canada’s New Voices Award for the last two years, and her work is forthcoming in the anthology Best Canadian Poetry 2025.
