Grecian Windflower

I stop at the edge
of the lake
as I have always done
in this moment.
The heron, there
in mid-flight
between two
breaths, while
Mist dances
ecstatic across
the water’s smooth skin.
Just this. Just this.
Where does the singing
come from all around,
speaker and spoken
prayer and prayer
saying, make this body perfect
it is the soil from which I rise
springlike, again as I always have
