White Settler Deb O’Rourke grew up in Treaty 7 territory, but her writing and art are largely done in the lands of the Anishinaabe and the Wendat. Her poetry, first recognized in The New Quarterly’s Nick Blatchford Occasional Poetry Contest in 2016 and 2019, appears in anthologies and journals and was recently long-listed in the Troubadour (2023) and Live Canon (2024) International Poetry Contests.
