2017 POETRY READING CHALLENGE: CHECK-IN
2017 is somehow already four months underway, and we figured now would be a great time to check in with our 2017 Poetry Reading Challenge! National Poetry Month is a great time to either catch up or get ahead, depending on how the year is going for you. Here’s what we’ve been reading so far:
- Thirsty by Dionne Brand — a winner of the Pat Lowther Memorial Award
- Yiddish for Pirates by Gary Barwin — a novel by a poet
- Shiner by Eva H.D. — a book of poetry whose title is just one word
- Don’t Let It End Like This Tell Them I Said Something by Paul Vermeersch — a book of poetry with a ridiculously long title
- Skeena by Sarah de Leeuw — a book of poetry whose cover is your favourite colour
- View with a Grain of Sand by Wislawa Szymborska — a Nobel Laureate in Literature
- Trio by Sarah Tolmie — a book of sonnets
How is your poetry reading going this year? Don’t forget to share your reads on social media using the hashtag #LCPChallenge so we can cheer you on–and take your recommendations! Find the full challenge here.
Happy reading!
