Solitude
By Katerina Kucher
solitude is a gift
that comes with the night
that is the last beam of light before all the lights go off
that is words of a poem
that is illumination
that strikes you on Wednesday afternoon
that is knowledge
that comes with the knowledge of the one
greater than oneself
solitude is a gift
of the absence of any gift
of the absence of desire
of the absence of lack
of the absence of family
of the absence of shelter
solitude is a gift
for those who dive in
and leave their clothing
at the shore
